Exploratory Study on the Integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) In Educational Media and Its Academic outcomes on Undergraduate Students in Karachi, Pakistan

This research investigates the impact of AI integration in educational media and determine its impact on the academic experiences of undergraduate students in Karachi, Pakistan. It is a quantitative research approach, where data was collected through a convenient sampling technique, the population of the study are the students of undergraduate level of Karachi, Pakistan aged18-25. A sample of 400 students having equal male and female students was collected actively using social media. The independent variable of the study is students’ perception, academic engagement and academic performance of students while the dependent variable is extent of AI integration. The data was collected through self-structured questionnaire designed on 5 Likert scale. Pilot testing was done to establish the reliability and validity of the instrument. Data was analyzed through SPSS version 22. Descriptive analysis was used to summarized the data whereas, Pearson correlation and independent sample t test were used to test the hypothesis. Findings indicate a positive correlation between the extent of AI integration and favorable perceptions of learning experiences. Additionally, students frequently engaging with AI-integrated educational media exhibited higher academic engagement and performance. The research concludes with implications for educational institutions, acknowledging the importance of technological proficiency and proposing areas for further investigation. The study suggests that integrating AI into educational media can enhance learning experiences and academic outcomes. Practically, the findings may assist educators, university administrators, and policymakers in promoting effective AI integration, developing technology-based learning strategies, and improving teaching and learning practices in higher education institutions.
